As part of the second session in the Adobe Creative Apprenticeship event, I attended another useful online talk “How to Answer Creative Briefs“, focused on understanding and developing creative responses to briefs within the design industry.
The session explored the creative process behind interpreting briefs and generating ideas. One of the most valuable aspects of the event was hearing how different creatives approach the early stages of a project, from research and experimentation to presenting and refining ideas.
Hosted by Cyn Lagos, the guest speakers Janice Ahn shared her experience working across branding, motion, and illustration projects for clients as Apple, Meta, and Google, highlighting the importance of collaboration, and adaptability within professional creative practice. And Marcus Kerr, who discussed his approach to typography and design systems, explaning how design can create dialogue, awareness, and connection across different formats and audiences.
One of the main ideas reinforced during this session was that responding to a brief is not about finding an immediate “perfect” solution, but about being curious, exploring possibilities, and allowing ideas to develop through process and experimentation.
